Content Calendar
Visualize and manage your content schedule across month, week, and day views.
Overview
The PostPilot content calendar is a visual scheduling tool that helps you plan, organize, and manage your social media posts across all connected platforms. It provides a clear timeline of your content strategy, making it easy to spot gaps, avoid posting conflicts, and maintain a consistent publishing cadence.
The calendar offers three viewing modes: month view for big-picture planning, week view for detailed scheduling, and day view for managing individual days. Each view displays posts as color-coded blocks that indicate the target platform and publication status (draft, scheduled, published).
You can access the content calendar from the organization navigation bar. The calendar loads all posts for the current organization and allows you to reschedule, edit, or create new posts directly from the interface.
Month View
The month view displays an entire calendar month as a traditional grid with seven columns (one per day of the week) and five or six rows. Each day cell shows small post indicators, color-coded by platform: blue for Facebook, pink for Instagram, dark blue for LinkedIn, sky blue for Twitter, and black for TikTok.
Month view is ideal for high-level content planning. At a glance, you can see which days have content scheduled and which are empty. Days with multiple posts show stacked indicators, and a “+N more” badge appears when there are too many posts to display in the cell. Click any day cell to zoom into the day view for that date.
Use the navigation arrows at the top of the calendar to move between months. The current day is highlighted with a subtle accent ring so you can quickly orient yourself in the timeline.
Week View
The week view shows seven days in a horizontal layout with a vertical time axis running from morning to evening. Posts are displayed as blocks positioned at their scheduled time, giving you a precise view of when each piece of content is set to go live.
This view is especially useful for fine-tuning your posting schedule. You can see at a glance whether posts are clustered too close together or whether prime engagement hours are left uncovered. Each post block shows the platform icon, a caption snippet, and the image thumbnail for quick identification.
Clicking a post block opens a detail popover with the full caption, image, and action buttons for editing, rescheduling, or deleting the post. You can also create a new post by clicking an empty time slot, which opens the post editor with the date and time pre-filled.
Day View
The day view focuses on a single day and displays all posts for that date in a vertical timeline. Each post is shown as an expanded card with the full caption, image, platform badge, scheduled time, and status indicator. This is the most detailed calendar view and is ideal for reviewing content before a busy publishing day.
Posts are ordered chronologically from top to bottom. Between each post, the timeline shows the time gap, making it easy to see the spacing between publications. If posts are scheduled too close together, a warning badge appears suggesting you spread them out for better engagement.
The day view also includes a summary panel at the top that shows the total number of posts for the day, a breakdown by platform, and the percentage of posts that are still in draft versus scheduled status. This helps you ensure everything is finalized before the publishing window.
Drag-and-Drop Rescheduling
One of the most powerful features of the content calendar is drag-and-drop rescheduling. In any calendar view, you can click and drag a post block to a new date or time slot to reschedule it instantly. The post's scheduled time updates automatically and the change is saved immediately.
Select the Post
Hover over the post block you want to reschedule. The cursor changes to a grab icon and the block elevates slightly with a shadow to indicate it is draggable. Click and hold to pick it up.
Drag to the New Slot
While holding the post, drag it to the desired date (in month view) or time slot (in week or day view). Valid drop targets highlight with a dashed border as you hover over them. The calendar scrolls automatically if you drag near the edges.
Drop and Confirm
Release the post on the new slot. A brief confirmation toast appears showing the old and new scheduled times. The post is immediately rescheduled and the calendar refreshes to reflect the new position.
Filtering
When you have a large volume of scheduled content, the calendar filtering controls help you focus on exactly what you need to see. The filter bar sits above the calendar grid and provides two filtering dimensions: platform and status.
The platform filter displays toggle buttons for each of your connected platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok). Click a platform to show only posts targeting that platform. You can select multiple platforms simultaneously, and the calendar updates instantly to reflect your selection.
The status filter lets you show only posts with a specific status: draft, scheduled, or published. This is particularly useful for identifying posts that still need review (drafts) versus those that are locked in and ready to go (scheduled). Combining platform and status filters gives you precise control over what the calendar displays.
Filters persist across view changes, so if you filter by Instagram and then switch from month view to week view, the Instagram filter remains active. Click “Clear Filters” to reset all filters and see every post again.
