Manage your profile, change your password, and configure notification preferences.

Overview

Your profile and security settings control your personal identity within PostPilot and how you interact with the platform. These settings are separate from organization settings and apply to your individual account across all organizations you belong to.

From the profile settings page, you can update your personal information, change your password, configure notification preferences, and set your timezone. Keeping these settings current ensures a smooth experience, especially when collaborating with team members across different time zones.

Access your profile settings by clicking your avatar in the top navigation bar and selecting "Profile" from the dropdown menu. Changes to profile settings take effect immediately and are reflected across all organizations you are a member of.

Profile Information

The Profile Information section lets you manage the personal details that identify you within PostPilot. Your name and avatar appear throughout the platform, including in team activity feeds, post authorship labels, notification attributions, and comment threads. Keeping this information accurate helps your team members easily identify your contributions.

Update your name

Enter your first and last name in the provided fields. This name is displayed to team members in your organization and appears alongside any posts you create, edit, or approve. Click "Save" to apply changes.

Update your email

Your email address is used for account authentication, notification delivery, and password recovery. To change your email, enter the new address and confirm it through the verification link sent to the new email. Your old email remains active until verification is complete.

Upload an avatar

Click on your current avatar (or the placeholder icon) to upload a new profile image. PostPilot supports JPEG and PNG formats up to 2MB. The image is automatically cropped to a circular format and resized for consistent display across the platform.

Tip: Use a recognizable photo or icon as your avatar, especially if you work on a large team. A distinctive avatar makes it easier for teammates to identify your activity at a glance in the activity feed and notification panels.

Password Change

Maintaining a strong, unique password is essential for protecting your PostPilot account and the social media accounts connected through it. The password change section allows you to update your password securely at any time.

Enter your current password

For security purposes, you must verify your identity by entering your current password before setting a new one. This prevents unauthorized password changes if someone gains temporary access to your open session.

Set a new password

Enter your new password in both the "New password" and "Confirm password" fields. PostPilot requires passwords to be at least 8 characters long and recommends using a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

Save and verify

Click "Update Password" to save the change. PostPilot will confirm the update with a success message. If you have email notifications enabled, you will also receive a confirmation email alerting you to the password change. If you did not initiate this change, the email includes a link to secure your account immediately.

Warning: Never reuse passwords across services. If your PostPilot account has connected social media accounts, a compromised password could give an attacker the ability to post content on your behalf. Use a password manager to generate and store unique, strong passwords for every service.

Notification Preferences

Notification preferences on the profile page give you personal control over how and when you receive notifications. These settings apply to your account across all organizations and can be configured independently for each notification category.

PostPilot organizes notifications into several categories: post approvals, content generation updates, team activity, A/B test results, analytics alerts, and system announcements. For each category, you can independently enable or disable in-app notifications and email notifications.

Review notification categories

Browse through the list of notification categories displayed on the preferences page. Each category has a brief description of the types of events it covers, helping you decide which ones are relevant to your workflow.

Toggle channels per category

For each category, use the toggle switches to enable or disable in-app notifications and email notifications independently. For example, you might want in-app alerts for team activity but prefer email-only notifications for A/B test results.

Info: If you find yourself overwhelmed by notifications, start by disabling email notifications for high-frequency categories like team activity and content generation. Keep in-app notifications on so you can check them on your own schedule without email clutter.

Timezone

Your timezone setting determines how dates and times are displayed throughout the PostPilot interface. This includes post scheduling times, analytics date ranges, notification timestamps, and the posting heatmap. Setting the correct timezone ensures that you see all time-related information in your local context.

The timezone setting also affects when you receive email digests. Daily digest emails are sent in the morning according to your configured timezone, so setting it correctly ensures the digest arrives at a convenient time. Scheduled posts also reference your timezone when displaying their publication time in the UI, even though they are stored in UTC internally.

Select your timezone

Use the timezone dropdown to select your local timezone. The dropdown is searchable, so you can type your city name or UTC offset to quickly find the correct entry. PostPilot supports all standard IANA timezone identifiers.

Verify the change

After selecting your timezone, check the preview text below the dropdown that shows the current time in your selected timezone. If it matches your local clock, the setting is correct. Click "Save" to apply the change.

Tip: If you travel frequently, remember to update your timezone setting when you change locations. This ensures that scheduled posts and analytics data continue to display in the time context most relevant to you. Alternatively, keep it set to your primary work timezone for consistency.

Organization Settings
